| Davis Regional Breaks Ground for New Emergency Department Davis Regional Medical Center announced recently the expansion of the Emergency Department (ED). The new ED offers more treatment rooms to care for trauma, obstetrics, ENT, orthopedic and psychiatric patients. In addition, space will be dedicated for EMS and law enforcement personnel, along with a special room for grief and/or family consultations. To facilitate even faster patient treatment, the Nurse First Triage Area will double in size. Over the past years, Davis Regional has realized a significant increase in Emergency Department patients and this expansion will allow the hospital to continue providing exceptional patient care, even with continuous growth. During the construction phase, patients requiring emergency care will enter through the hospital’s main/visitor entrance, which is located at the front of the hospital. Staff will be available to assist and/or direct patients and visitors. This change in patient/EMS traffic flow pattern will continue until the ED expansion is complete. Projected completion date is Fall 2009, contingent upon delays related to weather or construction issues. Nurse First Triage, Emergency Department Registration, and the Emergency Department Waiting Area will remain in the same location and unaffected by the expansion. A formal groundbreaking was held at Davis Regional on Friday, February 27th at 10 am near the site of the expansion, and the public was invited. read more... |
